Structure Mods and World Generation: A Planning Guide
Plan structure-heavy worlds with careful generation settings, exploration tests, and backups before long-term play.

Decide how dense exploration should feel
Structure mods can make travel more rewarding, but too many additions can crowd a world. Define whether landmarks should be rare discoveries or frequent destinations. Review available generation settings before committing to a new save.
Test terrain and structure placement
Generate a disposable world and explore several types of terrain. Look for awkward placement, repetitive landmarks, and structures that interrupt the intended landscape. A single showcase scene does not reveal how a project behaves across every biome or seed.
Understand the limits of existing terrain
World-generation changes typically matter most when new terrain is created. Do not expect an update to rebuild previously explored areas automatically. Preserve a backup before changing generation-related files in a world that already contains important builds.
Coordinate updates with other players
On a shared world, record the mod list and settings used by the host. Agree on update timing before players continue exploring. Keep a test copy for checking revised configurations so the main world does not become the first place an unexpected interaction is discovered.
